Building Consumer AI From Miami
I build consumer AI from Miami. Not from San Francisco. That surprises people in both cities.
I still go west often. I have been at an invite-only Y Combinator event in San Francisco after CalHacks, and at YC Agent Jam '25, Y Combinator's AI agent hackathon. Those rooms are electric and I take a lot from them.

But Miami gives me two things San Francisco cannot. Distance from the echo chamber, and closeness to normal consumers. House AI is an app for people who want a nicer room, not for people who argue about model benchmarks. Miami is full of exactly the creators and consumers the app is for.
The honest cost is focus that can look like isolation. I am 25. When Business Insider interviewed me in August 2026 for a story about young builders and AI, I told them the truth: "I can't leave my desk." The tools have never been this powerful, and most people are not taking advantage of a finite window. This is an execution market. Grit, dedication, and focus decide it.
"It's like I'm in a dark room, everybody can't see anything, and I'm the only one holding a light."Jeffrey Escobar, in Business Insider, August 2026
The room will not stay dark. More people will pick up the tools, here in Miami and everywhere else. Until then, I am fine being the one holding the light.
