How House AI Grew With UGC Creators

House AI is an AI interior design app. It is on the App Store, Google Play, and the web, and it is available in 175+ countries. A big part of that reach came from user-generated content: real creators posting real videos of the app.

Polished ads have a ceiling for consumer AI. People want to see the product do something in front of them. A creator filming their own room, running it through the app, and reacting to the result will beat a studio ad most days.

The system

The engine is simple to describe and hard to run. Find creators who already make home, design, or lifestyle content. Give them a short brief: show your room, show the redesign, react honestly. Let them write the hook in their own voice. Then post a lot.

Volume matters because nobody can predict a winner. The first two seconds decide most of it. We watch retention, comments, and saves, then double down on the hooks that work. The best organic videos become paid ads later, already proven.

What I learned

Three things. First, volume beats perfection. A rough video that ships today teaches you more than a perfect one that ships next month. Second, creators know their audience better than founders do. Give them the product and the goal, not a script. Third, the comment section is a free research lab. People tell you exactly what they want the app to do next.

This engine is a big part of how House AI grew past 150,000 downloads. Today the app is available in 175+ countries. And the work compounds: every video is a page on the internet with the product's name on it.
